Bolivia – Vietnam Friendship Association launched in Santa Cruz
On Oct 24th, the Bolivia – Vietnam Friendship Association was officially launched in Santa Cruz, the Bolivia’s largest city, the center of economy, trade and culture.

Addressing the remarks, Chairman of the Bolivia – Vietnam Friendship Association, Mr. Jerjes Justiniano Talavera said Vietnam was a brave country, with an area equivalent to Santa Cruz’s, with population of 90 million people – who had defeated the invasion of the world’s most powerful country, writting history of the nation by their blood. Vietnam nowadays has set aside the past and have a new narrative. Vietnam is trying to build a country of peace and development to bring a better life for people.
At the ceremony, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam in Brazil, concurrently in Bolivia, Peru and Guyana, Nguyen Van Kien introduced the history, culture, people of Vietnam and achievements of 30 years of innovation. He particularly emphasized fruits of friendly and cooperative relations between Vietnam and Bolivia, as well as potential opportunities of development, cooperation between the two countries.
The Ambassador highly appreciated the significance and importance of advent of the Bolivia – Vietnam Friendship Association. He believed that the Association would play a key role in the promotion of relations between Vietnam and Bolivia.
Also, the Association will be a bridge for public diplomacy activities, cooperation of economics, culture and trade between Bolivia and Vietnam, he added.
On this occasion, Ambassador Nguyen Van Kien also appreciates tireless contributions of , Mr. Jerjes Justiniano Talavera. He was a senior revolutionary, a teacher, a diplomat and a successful businessman of Bolivia. Mr. Jerjes Justiniano Talavera has a special affection for Vietnam, the country and the people. He playes a very important role in the establishment of the Bolivia – Vietnam Friendship Association.
On behalf of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Associations, the Ambassador awarded a medal for peace and friendship to Mr. Jerjes Justiniano Talavera.
