The Chair also welcomed the upcoming visit of the Ethnic Council of the National Assembly of Vietnam and confirmed that the Bulgarian National Assembly would work closely to ensure the visit achieves practical outcomes, thereby further tightening the bond and cooperation between the two legislatures.
Ambassador Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet expressed her gratitude to the Chair for the audience and for the congratulatory letter sent on the occasion of Vietnam’s 80th National Day and the 75th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic relations. She emphasized that over the past 75 years, the traditional friendship between Vietnam and Bulgaria has been continuously strengthened and developed, with parliamentary cooperation playing a particularly significant role.
The Ambassador appreciated the close coordination between the two parliaments, demonstrated by recent high-level visits, which have helped to promote parliamentary cooperation, economic and trade relations, and the exchange of legislative experience. She reaffirmed Vietnam’s wish to maintain exchanges of delegations, hold online meetings, and coordinate within multilateral parliamentary forums such as the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) and the Asia-Europe Parliamentary Partnership Meeting (ASEP).
In the context of 2025 being a year of special significance for Vietnam, marked by many historic milestones, the Ambassador noted that this would serve as a motivation for Vietnam to further its international integration and broaden multifaceted cooperation with Bulgaria. She expressed her hope that during her tenure, she would make every effort to elevate Vietnam-Bulgaria relations to new heights, through strengthening high-level political dialogue, making full use of the Intergovernmental Committee and Political Consultations, promoting economic, trade, and investment cooperation, and expanding cultural and people-to-people exchanges.
On this occasion, Ambassador Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet also put forward several key directions for future cooperation, including the effective implementation of agreements between the two parliaments, increased exchanges of delegations, and sharing of experience in governance and legislation. In addition, the two sides could further economic, trade and investment cooperation in potential areas such as agriculture, pharmaceuticals, education and training, information technology, digital transformation, and green transition, while also fostering cultural and educational collaboration, student exchanges, scholarships, and greater people-to-people connectivity.
