Condolences sent to Portugal over wildfires
President Tran Dai Quang on October 19th sent a letter of condolences to his Portuguese counterpart Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa over the recent deadly wildfires in Portugal.

The same day, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh also extended his condolences to Portuguese Foreign Minister Augusto Santos Silva.
At least 36 people died in the wildfires that raged through parched farmlands and forests in Portugal and another three in neighbouring northwestern Spain on October 15th-16th.
The 36 deaths, which were confirmed by Portugal's national civil protection agency and included a one-month-old baby, come four months after 64 people were killed in the deadliest fire in the country's history in June./.
