The Da Nang city Peace Committee on October 21 held its 6th Congress of 2024-2029 term.

According to Da Nang Today, 28 candidates were selected for the Executive Board of the Da Nang Peace Committee for the 2024-2029 term. Le Van Trung, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city was re-elected Chairman of the municipal Peace Committee for the 2024-2029 term.

In the 2024-2029 term, the Da Nang Peace Committee will continue to establish and develop relationships with partners; cooperate with people's organizations for peace in the region and the world; and mobilize and attract the attention and participation of individuals, organizations, and peace-loving forces inside and outside the city.

Speaking at the congress, Vice Chairwoman of the municipal People's Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi highly appreciated the results achieved over the past term.

She asked the Peace Committee to mobilize people to maintain solidarity, friendship, and cooperative and peaceful relations with international partners and friends, as well as coordinate with relevant units to advise the city's leaders on people-to-people diplomacy, in the next term.

According to the report, in the 2019-2024 term, the Da Nang Peace Committee coordinated with agencies and units to organize many meaningful activities, contributing to strengthening the friendship between the people of Da Nang and other countries, and effectively contributing to the general foreign affairs of the whole city.

The Da Nang Peace Committee coordinated to hold the international conference themed “Smart City: Experiences of some Western and Northern European countries and the vision of Da Nang,” the international conference themed “Developing the innovative startup ecosystem in Da Nang and the role of people-to-people diplomacy in connecting and mobilizing resources,” organized a response to support the people of Turkey and Syria to overcome the consequences of the earthquake, as well as called on overseas Vietnamese and their relatives to participate in supporting social security and disaster relief programs.
