On the evening of January 24, the final of the AFC U23 Championship 2026 concluded with a resounding 4-0 victory for Japan U23 over China U23.

According to AFC regulations for determining the Golden Boot winner, if multiple players are tied on goals and assists, the next criterion considered is total minutes played.

At the 2026 tournament, Dinh Bac played a total of 361 minutes, fewer than the 446 minutes logged by the Japanese U23 midfielder, according to statistics on the AFC official website.

As a result, the Vietnam U23 forward was officially awarded the Golden Boot at the AFC U23 Championship 2026.

For Dinh Bac personally, the Nghe An-born striker also made history by becoming the first Vietnamese player to receive the Golden Boot at an AFC U23 Championship finals.

At this year’s tournament, Dinh Bac played the role of the main driving force for Vietnam U23, scoring four goals and providing two assists across six matches, directly contributing to six of the “Golden Dragon Army’s” 10 goals.

Also on the evening of January 24, Dinh Bac returned to Hanoi together with 25 members of the Vietnam U23 squad after their campaign at the AFC U23 Championship 2026.

The striker, born in 2004, will have a short break before rejoining Cong An Ha Noi FC to prepare for the second phase of the 2025/26 club season.
