Recently, the captain of Tan Son Nhat’s flight VN1340 at Cam Ranh International Airport, which was preparing for the runway, had to fly again to wait for landing after spotting a dog. The dog enters the flight zone.
“The dog was discovered in the drainage ditch near the E3 taxiway in the flight zone – the runway used by the 954 Brigade,” the source said. Twenty minutes after the dog was spotted, the flight landed safely.
Nguyen Minh Khoi, deputy director of the Cam Ranh airport, verified the incident on Monday, local media reported.
Needless to say, this is not the first time dogs have been spotted in Cam Ranh Bay. Earlier this month, airport authorities found a dog near a water ditch running across a nearby runway, forcing three flights from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to delay landing by up to 20 minutes.

"The dog was dealt with afterward and the planes landed safely," said Khoi, as cited by Tuoi Tre.
An investigation revealed the construction team for one of the airport’s runways raised three dogs. The gates separating the construction site from the runway were opened without anyone watching. After the ordeal, authorities have requested the three dogs be removed from the construction site, said VN Express.
Nor is Cam Ranh the only airport where this situation occurs. The functional forces at Cat Bi Airport have also discovered a dog wandering around in the drainage ditches of the flight zone at the beginning of the runway, Bao Giao Thong reported
At Dien Bien CHK, aviation security personnel also spotted a dog running on the runway. The incident happened as the plane approached and landed, which resulted in the pilot flying the second lap again and landing 15 minutes late than planned. Tan Son Nhat International Airport also spotted dogs running into the flight zone many times.
