Upon arriving at Ba Ke Shoal, Task Force No. 01 of the Early Election Team, led by Colonel Le Hong Quang, Deputy Head of Political Affairs of Naval Region 2 and Head of the Election Team, held a memorial ceremony honoring the heroic martyrs who sacrificed their lives on the southern continental shelf of the Fatherland.

Following the ceremony, the crew of the Truong Sa 04 ship mobilized to transport the crew members of the Hai An 68 vessel, enabling voters to exercise their rights and fulfill their civic duties in the election.

Sharing his feelings about voting at sea for the first time, Vo Ta Thanh, a crew member of the Hai An 68 vessel, explained that his vessel had been working offshore for over a month and was not expected to return to land on election day. To ensure participation, the crew contacted the Truong Sa 04 ship to vote early at sea. “Voting early on a Navy ship, we were very excited. Stepping aboard, the decorations and election songs were no different from those on land. We carefully studied the candidates and made our own choices,” Thanh said.

Unlike Thanh, young crew member Ho Viet Huy of the Hai An 68 shared: “This is my first time participating in a National Assembly election, and voting early at sea is very impressive and meaningful. I hope the elected representatives will dedicate themselves to the development of the country.”

Following the early voting on board, the Early Election Team of Naval Region 2 quickly prepared all necessary materials and equipment, deploying a mobile boat to the DK1/9 platform to organize voting for personnel stationed there. The team ensured full readiness: ballot boxes, banners, slogans, signs, voter lists, candidate lists, biographies, and action programs, so that the process mirrored the organization and atmosphere of voting on the mainland.

In a short time, the officers and soldiers of the DK1/9 platform completed decorating the election area. With election songs, candidate information, festive decorations, and lively discussions, a vibrant election-day atmosphere was created in the middle of the ocean.

Once preparations were complete, the opening ceremony was conducted no different from that on the mainland. The flag-raising and the singing of the national anthem echoed across the open sea, lending solemnity and meaning to the occasion for every voter.

Colonel Le Hong Quang, Deputy Head of Political Affairs of Naval Region 2 and Head of the Election Committee, provided detailed guidance on election rules and regulations. Voters carefully studied the candidates for the 16th National Assembly and the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Council for the 2026-2031 term before casting their ballots according to the prescribed procedures.

Earlier, during the voyage to the Ba Ke Cluster on February 27, the Election Committee had organized election for voters on four ships of the 128th and 129th Naval Squadrons of the Navy, which were carrying out duties in the Bach Ho oil field area.
