The three projects include a Laos-Vietnam Friendship Secondary School (second phase), upgrading a hostel for foreign students at Laos University, and building a Vietnamese language department at Souphanouvong University.
At the ceremony, Lao Deputy Minister of Education and Sports Kongsi Sengmani sent sincere thanks to Vietnam’s Party, State and people for their valuable, practical, and effective assistance to Laos.
The construction of the three projects is taking place in the year that the two countries celebrate the 55th anniversary of diplomatic ties, and the 40th anniversary of the signing of the Vietnam-Laos Treaty on Amity and Cooperation. It helps to fortify the traditional friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries, said Sengmani.
Tran Thanh Khiet, a representative of Vietnam’s Ministry of Education and Training, said the Vietnamese government and ministry have always supported Laos in developing education to serve its national development in the new period.
The total construction cost for the three projects is around US$4 million./.
