According to the association's draft report summarizing its work in the 2016-2023 term, its organization and activities were limited in quantity and quality. Meanwhile, it did not bring into full play the potential of Vietnam - France relations.

In the coming term, the Association will expand and develop its work in the key areas of cooperation between the two countries such as trade, investment, tourism, culture, and society. The association will actively mobilize and gather a large number of Vietnamese organizations and individuals who have been living, studying, and working in France, who love and wish to contribute to promoting the friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

Through the activities of the association and its members, cooperation activities between the Association, its member organizations, and their French partners contribute to consolidating the solidarity, friendship and mutual understanding between people of the two countries; further developing the cooperation between localities of the two countries; making good use of the support of the French people for VIetnam's cause of economic, cultural and social construction and protection of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the sea and islands.

In her remarks, Nguyen Phuong Nga, President of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations suggested the Association take advantage of the strengths and exploit the potential of the two countries for cooperation in various fields, such as investment, trade, education, health, culture, science, and technology.

It should also coordinate with French partners and friends to promote French language and culture education in Vietnam and Vietnamese language and culture in France; strengthen cooperation in cultural, education, and training of lecturers, and doctors within the framework of activities of the Francophone to which the two countries are members.

Ambassador Nguyen Phuong Nga suggested the Association focus on developing the network of local associations and units, attracting the participation of young people, focusing on information and propaganda work, and applying information technology to spread information about Vietnam to the French people, especially the young generation.

According to French Ambassador to Vietnam Nicolas Warnery, over the past 50 years, Vietnam-France relations have developed strongly in many fields and levels: politics, diplomacy, local cooperation, and cooperation between hospitals, universities, businesses, and people. Vietnam - France Friendship and Cooperation Association has significantly contributed to those achievements.

In 2023, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries, the French Embassy in Vietnam will organize various activities: scientific seminars, economic forums, food fairs, French product introduction, and photo exhibition. These activities contribute to promoting people-to-people exchanges and enhancing mutual understanding between the two peoples.
