Expansion of Lao Cai border gate EZ received approval

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has signed Decision expanding the Lao Cai border gate economic zone in the northern mountainous province of Lao Cai.

The Lao Cai border gate economic zone (EZ) is an area with specified geographical boundaries belonging to the national territory and sovereignty with functional zones. After being adjusted, the EZ has a total area of 15,929.8 hectares.

The EZ comprises the following functional zones: a non-tax zone; a border gate zone; industrial zone and cluster and small scale industry zone; an entertainment, tourism, urban and population zone and other functional zones suitable with legal regulations and local particular traits. The size and location of each zone are identified in the general and detailed planning of the Lao Cai border gate EZ.

The EZ operates in line with current legal regulations on EZ, border gate EZ and related law regulated documents.

The Decision takes effect from November 15th, 2016./.
