Festival of three temples in Tuyen Quang named national cultural heritage

A ceremony was held in Tuyen Quang city of the northern mountainous province of the same name on March 28^th to receive a certificate recognising the festival of Ha, Thuong and Y La Temples as national intangible cultural heritage.

The Mother Goddess palanquin procession ritual dated back a long time ago in close link with the Mother Goddess worshipping at the three temples.

The festival was revived in 2007. It takes place from the 11^th day to 16^th day of the second lunar month at the three temples.

The Mother Goddess palanquin procession ritual departs from the Y La Temple and the Thuong Temple, both to the Ha Temple for a joint ritual.

The Ha Temple and Thuong Temple were built in 1738 and 1767, respectively, and are dedicated to Princess Phuong Dung and Princess Ngoc Lan - Hung King’s daughters.

The festival helps promote the unique cultural value of Tuyen Quang city among domestic and international visitors./.
