	Spanish PM's Visit to Vietnam Deepens Bilateral Ties After Nearly Five Decades

In her opening remarks, Spanish Ambassador to Vietnam Carmen Cano de Lasala emphasized that the concert was an opportunity to celebrate music as a bridge connecting people, nations, and generations. Flamenco emerged from the interaction of multiple cultures that coexisted in southern Spain. Over time, this art form has maintained its significance thanks to its ability to balance the preservation of traditional values with the incorporation of new influences.

Ambassador Carmen Cano de Lasala noted that through music, Las Migas celebrates the vitality of flamenco, bringing the art form closer to contemporary life by combining voices and perspectives from different regions of Spain. In its works, the group places women at the center, thereby promoting the values of freedom, equality, and innovation.

At the event, Las Migas presented a series of performances characterized by a fresh, feminine, and powerful style. Building on the foundations of flamenco, the group incorporated elements of rumba, jazz, Mediterranean folk music, and contemporary sounds. Through songs such as “Grito,” “Alba,” and “Celos,” Las Migas introduced Vietnamese audiences to the distinctive features of contemporary Spanish flamenco.

Las Migas is a Spanish flamenco group founded in Barcelona in 2004. After more than 20 years of performing in over 50 countries, the group has established itself as one of the leading representatives of contemporary flamenco, winning the Latin Grammy Award for Best Flamenco Album in 2022 and 2025.
