France, Cambodia sign multifaceted cooperation agreement
France has agreed to provide USD42 million to Cambodia in support of socio-economic development as well as signing a four-year orientation and cooperation document, aiming to enhance bilateral ties and cooperation.

According to a press release by the French Embassy in Cambodia, these agreements come in the context of the new Partnership Agreement between Cambodia and France for 2015-2018 which has identified a priority need for support in the production sectors of Cambodia’s economy and was signed on the same day by Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Hor Namhong and and French Secretary of State for Development and Francophony Annick Girardin.
As stipulated in the document, the two countries will continue cooperating in trade and investment with a priority towards education, healthcare, vocational training, environmental protection, rural development, infrastructure, energy and culture.
"The document is very important for the two countries to continue cooperation in all fields," Hor Namhong told reporters after the signing ceremony, adding that it was the second phase of cooperation since 2010./.
