Over 1,000 contestants from all walks of life, have registered for the contest.

The event was part of activities to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Hanoi’s recognition as a “City for Peace” by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). |

Launched in May 2019, the contest received over 1,000 entries. The top 27 domestic and foreign contestants were chosen for the final night. |

The event aims to honour cultural and artistic values through the costumes and performances of contestants, comprising Vietnamese at home and abroad, and expats in Hanoi. |

The contest also aims to intensify solidarity and friendship between Hanoians and international friends, and promote the city’s image to the world. |

Palestinian Ambassador to Vietnam Saadi Salama, head of the diplomatic corps, vowed to help Hanoi to retain the title “City for Peace” and called on expats to take part in activities that convey a message of a friendly and peaceful city. |
