H2H is usually a 2000km cycle ride from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City every April, but this year it has become a 'virtual' ride.
With the challenges of COVID-19 the original cycle from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City is no longer feasible but with the new virtual challenge, anyone is welcome to join the ride from home: be it yoga, walking the dog or running a marathon in your back yard, whilst being mindful of social distancing.
After having staged 10 successful annual charity rides, the H2H charity bike ride team has finished its 'virtual' ride around the world on April 30.
Over 500 riders from more than 25 countries have been exercised from home and helped to send good vibes around the world at a tough time.
"H2H truly went global this year...50,000 virtual km's, 500 riders from 25 countries and crucially $25,000+ raised so far (online and offline) to tackle child poverty, human trafficking and COVID-19 in Vietnam," wroted in H2H - Ride for Vietnam's Facebook page.
Donations can still be made on www.justgiving.com/team/h2h-2020 until the end of May 2020.
Started in 2009, the H2H Charity Ride has raised more than USD 370,000 to date to help disadvantaged children gain access to better education.
All funds donated will be distributed to four charity partners providing education and fighting human trafficking in Vietnam: Saigon Children, Blue Dragon Children’s Foundation, Live & Give and ILA Community Network.
H2H Charity Ride is entirely run by volunteers, with organizational support from beneficiary charities and sponsors. The volunteers are mainly English teachers based in HCMC. They are people whose lives have been enriched by living in Vietnam and want to give something back by helping those most in need./.
