Hanoi, Hai Phong City Organizations Discuss People-to-people Diplomacy Activities

At the meeting, Nguyen Ngoc Ky, Chairman of the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organizations (HAUFO), shared that to promote the potential and advantages of people-to-people diplomacy activities, HAUFO has proactively strengthened information and promotion work.

This is to enhance the position and image of the unit and to diversify people's foreign affairs activities with the strengths of the capital city. At the same time, it also focuses on organizational development, establishing the Vietnam - Singapore Friendship Association in Hanoi, bringing the total number of member units to 26 organizations.

Speaking at the meeting, Do Van Binh, Chairman of the Hai Phong City Union of Friendship Organizations, highly appreciated HAUFO for its effectively coordinated activities in recent times. Binh also discussed certain difficulties in improving the operational capacity of member associations and innovating the mindset and methods of people-to-people diplomacy activities. He believed that solutions are needed to further enhance the image and position of the Hai Phong City Union of Friendship Organizations in particular and people's foreign affairs in general.

The two sides agreed that in the coming time, they will closely coordinate to organize several joint activities, to increase the participation of member organizations; and to expand connections with the Union of Friendship Organizations of Centrally-affiliated provinces/cities. These activities will enhance the position of HAUFOi and Hai Phong City Union of Friendship Organizations, contributing to the socio-economic development of the country and local associations.
