Hanoi students would return to schools starting March 2 after about an extended one-month Tet break due to the Covid-19 epidemic.

As reported by Lao Dong newspaper, many schools in the city had cleaned and disinfected areas to ensure safety for teachers and students.

Vice Principal of Luong The Vinh Secondary & High School (Thanh Tri District, Hanoi) Le Na said that during the time of online teaching, the school still cleaned areas twice a day.

The school also requested students to make health declarations before going to class. Besides, hand sanitizers would be placed at the classrooms and school gate, she added.

According to the Principal of Hanoi’s Nguyen Du Secondary School Nguyen Thi Ly, students will have the chance to revise knowledge that they learned during two-week online classes.

The school also requested each student to prepare two face masks and personal water bottles before coming to class. In addition, the school has prepared different scenarios in case that students or parents come into contact with Covid-19 patients, Ly said.

Hanoi has not recorded any new community transmission since Feb. 16.

The capital city has reported 36 local transmissions in the country's third Covid-19 outbreak that began on January 28.

The nation’s Covid-19 total stands at 2,461 with 1,892 recoveries and 35 deaths.
