HUFO: 500 Mid-Autumn festival gifts for poor children
In the celebratory atmosphere of the Mid-Autumn festival, the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Friendship Organizations (HUFO) has call for donations from foreign non-governmental organizations (NGOs) as well as benefactors and brought 500 gifts to needy children in the city.

Annually, when Mid-Autumn festival comes around, as a focal point agency undertaking missions of the HCMC Party’s Committee and People’s Committee, HUFO actively mobilizes aids from foreign NGOs and diplomatic offices to take part in the program of supporting Mid-Autumn festival’s gifts for needy children. This human charity program launched by HUFO has received enthusiastic supports from inpiduals and organizations, which helps thousands of children in the city having a happy and meaningful Mid-Autumn festival.
This year, HUFO has mobilised 500 gifts from 5 NGOs for poor children. Each gift costs VND 200,000 (USD 8.6) including mooncakes, lanterns, candies, milk and learning tools.
Those gifts sponsored by Taiwan Fund for Children and Families organization (TFCF); Chen-Yung Charity; Eden Social Welfare Foundation organization (Eden); Hyo & Harmony World organization (HHW); and Methodist Missions Society organization (MMS) were transferred to 300 needy children in Nha Be town as well as 200 students of Hung Long Primary School, Binh Chanh district on September 19th-20th.
Each gift is small in value yet convey the caring and sharing message of foreign NGO community in particular and of the city in general./.
