Speaking at the festival, Vietnamese Ambassador to Hungary Bui Le Thai praised the Vietnamese community’s tradition of solidarity and mutual support. He acknowledged the role of the Association of Vietnamese in Hungary and the Vietnamese Women’s Association in Hungary in connecting generations, nurturing bonds among compatriots, and building an increasingly united and strong community.

According to the ambassador, the spirit of national unity is expressed not only through major events but also through simple everyday acts: caring for one another, sharing, offering help in times of difficulty, working together to preserve the Vietnamese language and culture, and supporting one another’s integration into the host society. He affirmed that the embassy would always stand alongside the community and support its activities, helping Vietnamese people in Hungary integrate successfully, build a strong and thriving community, and further strengthen their standing in Hungarian society.

For Dr. Phan Bich Thien, President of the Vietnamese Women’s Association in Hungary and head of the organizing committee, the festival fulfilled a wish she had cherished for many years. What brought her the greatest happiness was seeing nearly 300 Vietnamese people gathered together, from elders over 90 years old to young children born and raised in Hungary. Despite differences in age, hometown, and occupation, they were all united by their bonds as compatriots.

The festival also incorporated activities honoring women on the occasion of Vietnamese Women’s Day on October 20 and marking Vietnamese Culture Day on November 24.

According to Phan Bich Thien, women play an important role in preserving national identity while living abroad. Within each family, they pass on the Vietnamese language, customs, traditions, and memories of the homeland to their children and grandchildren, while actively participating in activities that foster connections and mutual support within the community.
