The campaign was launched on October 13, 2013, by iSEE, ICS, and 6+ during the amendment process for the 2014 Law on Marriage and Family. Aiming to raise awareness and advocate for same-sex marriage, the campaign collects stories of families of gay, bisexual, and transgender people in Vietnam.

Right in 2013, it received positive responses from the public, shown through 80.000 followers on its fanpage, 12.000 signatures, 5,000 images, and 200 videos were sent to support the campaign. The "I Do" festival held in the same year attracted 2.000 participants.

In August 2022, the campaign was re-launched, continuing to promote its mission to bring a brighter prospect for same-sex couples. The campaign has received support from diverse groups, from educational institutions, businesses, and families to celebrities. More than 40.000 valid signatures were collected. 17 ambassadors and influential figures in Vietnam, more than 2.000 students from 15 universities nationwide, and many news agencies show their support.

The campaign has so far received more than 44.000 valid signatures.

This year 2023 marks the 10-year milestone of the campaign, as it continues to call for companionship from accompanied organizations, businesses, and the public. So far, "I Do" has received over 44.000 valid signatures, stimulating its upcoming journey to bring stories of LGBTI families to public awareness and calling for the legalization of same-sex marriage.

During that 10 years, significant changes have been recorded in Vietnam. The society has become more open to same-sex couples and the LGBTI community, and more same-sex weddings have been held in a joyful atmosphere, well accepted by the couples' families.

On this occasion, a short film named "Hon nhan vo hinh" (Invisible Marriage) was introduced to the public. Minh and Hoang have to overcome tons of difficulties before their love is accepted and their happy wedding is held and witnessed by their loved ones. Through Minh and Hoang, the film tells a typical story of LGBTI couples who struggle to build a home together.
