Over 100 cyclists and runners made their way up Son Tra Mountain in Da Nang and Giong Mountain in Hanoi for Newborns Vietnam.
As the dawn broke on the Nhat Tan bridge (Hanoi), cyclists and runners, friends and supporters from the Hanoi cycling clubs took part in the Isla climbing challenge on Giong. In Da Nang, cyclists and runners completed the steep 6.1 km Monkey Mountain hill climb on Son Tra.
The Isla Climbing Challenge was started by David Lloyd, a long-term supporter of Newborns Vietnam whose family was impacted by loss in 2016. The aim of this event is to raise funds for Newborns Vietnam which works to improve newborn care and increase the chances of newborn survival.

The event brings cyclists and runners together to raise awareness and funds to support young Vietnamese doctors and nurses as they challenge themselves to complete international standard training in English and go on to become the future leaders.
The charity's long-running project in Hanoi and Da Nang has resulted in incredible improvements in care and a drastic reduction in mortality.
In the 3 years the Isla Climbing Challenge has been running, close to 30,000 USD (700 million VND) has been raised for Newborns./.
