Italy-Vietnam Chamber of Commerce Strengthen Connection

In an exchange held with the media on March 24, the CCIV said regarding activities in the year ahead, CCIV will work closely alongside the Vietnamese Embassy in Italy and the Honorary Consulate of Vietnam in Turin to launch a wide range of activities that aim to promote economic co-operation, trade, and services, of which tourism represents one of the priority areas. This comes in the context that both Italy and Vietnam are currently allowing related services to gradually reopen.

Furthermore, CCIV has decided to launch the opening of a representative office in Ho Chi Minh City next June as it seeks to expand its ability to provide necessary assistance to businesses of both countries in the process of gaining potential partners and maintaining operations in each other's markets.

In the immediate future, CCIV has devised plans to organize a series of bilateral events in Turin, including arranging working visits between a delegation of the Vietnamese Embassy with authorities of Turin and the Piedmont region. This is in addition to introducing the potential of investment and business in the Vietnamese market to Italian businesses, according to VOV.

Founded in 1996, the CCIV is one of the first bilateral chambers of commerce set up in Italy and recognized by Italy’s Ministry of International Trade, which is the Ministry of Economic Development now. It is a member of the union of chambers of commerce (Unioncamere) of Italy.

The CCIV has worked to help bolster economic and trade partnerships between the two countries and reinforce the traditional relationship through coordination with various friendship organizations in Turin, VNA cited.

Vietnam is Italy’s main commercial partner among ASEAN countries with a turnover of more than EUR4 billion per year. Italian exports to Vietnam include industrial machinery, food, and wines, clothing, furniture, medical and optical equipment, cosmetic and pharmaceutical goods. Vietnamese export to Italy includes electronic products, agricultural products, and textiles, according to Hanoitimes.
