Japan enhances capacity for Vietnamese staff on construction project
(VNF) - On November 25th, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the Ministry of Construction (MOC) co-organized a training workshop within the scope of the project for “Capacity enhancement in cost estimation, contract management, quality and safety in construction investment projects in Vietnam” (CCQSP).
The workshop shares the Technical Cooperation (TC) project’s outputs and focal points relating to Vietnam’s law and regulations on construction. The other two similar events will be held in Da Nang on December 2nd, and Ho Chi Minh city on December 8th.

Viet Nam has maintained sustainable economic growth in recent years and implemented a large number of major infrastructure development projects. However, due to insufficient project management and inadequate quality and safety management in construction works, many construction accidents have been recorded.
In addition, contracts of construction projects have been insufficiently managed leading to numerous arguments during construction, which therefore have obstructed a smooth implementation of the construction projects. To address the issue, the Vietnamese Government had requested JICA to implement the project. The CCQSP has been then prepared and implemented since April 2015, planned to last till March 2018./.
