Speaking at the ceremony, Japanese Consul General Junichi Kawaue emphasised the necessity of the five projects, hoping that beneficiary localities will use funded equipment effectively in the interest of the locals.

He also noted that the co-operation and relationships between Japan and Vietnam have developed strongly in past years and Japan is now the country providing the most assistance to Vietnam in implementing many projects in various areas, bringing benefits to the Vietnamese people.

Y Suon Bya, Chairman of Krong Pac District’s People’s Committee in Dak Lak Province was delighted to receive aid from the Japanese Government, saying that the building of a kindergarten and a water supply system in the district were very significant to the locals and that the authorities would manage and use these works effectively to serve the local people.

The signing of the non-refundable aid agreement is part of the Japanese Government’s non-refundable aid programme at the grassroots level. Between 1995 and 2016, the programme provided aid to 169 projects in 26 southern provinces and cities with a total amount of over USD 13.5 million./.
