Over US$ 85,000 will be transferred to the Vietnam Association of Victims of Agent Orange (AO)/dioxin (VAVA) in support of Vietnamese AO/Dioxin victims.

The funds originated from a project signed between the Japanese Embassy in Vietnam and VAVA on December 5 in Hanoi.

At the signing ceremony

The signing ceremony saw the presence of Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam, Kunio Umeda, and VAVA President, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Rinh.

The project, including the provision of medical equipment for the Social Support Center for AO/dioxin victims, aims to enhance treatment for AO/dioxin victims as well as protect their rights and interests, contributing to helping them overcome the aftermath of wars and stabilize their lives. Additionally, it is to strengthen relationship between Vietnam and Japan.

Speaking at the event, General Rinh expressed his gratitude to the Japanese Government and pledged that the VAVA would collaborate with relevant agencies to make effective use of the facilities and equipments./.
