Speaking at the reception, Kathline Magee thanked the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations for supporting Operation Smile during its 35 years of operation in Vietnam. To date, the organization has conducted free examinations and surgeries for children with cleft lip, cleft palate, and other facial deformities. It cooperates with Vietnamese hospitals, supports capacity building for doctors and medical staff; promotes professional exchanges between Vietnamese and international doctors. In the coming time, the organization will continue to bring medical experts from countries to work and share experiences in Vietnam; organize surgeries for children, and support professional development for Vietnamese doctors, focusing on complex techniques to handle difficult cases.

Nguyen Ngoc Hung, Vice President of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations, highly appreciated Operation Smile's contributions in supporting the health sector and children in Vietnam.
