Over 3,500 trees planted around General Giap’s graveside
In response to the tree-planting festival in spring, initiated by President Ho Chi Minh, on February 26th, the Communist Youth Union Central Committee planted over 3,500 trees around General Vo Nguyen Giap’s graveside in Quang Dong commune, Quang Trach district, the central province of Quang Binh.
During the planting ceremony, first Secretary of the Communist Youth Union Central Committee Nguyen Dac Vinh stressed that the union members should actively participate in tree planting activities to protect the environment. “The activity aims to educate patriotism among the youth and show gratitude to General Vo Nguyen Giap,” he added.
As a result, the delegates and over 1,000 members of the union planted 120 alabar almond trees along the road leading to General Giap’s grave and 3,500 caesarian along Vung Chua beach before cleaning up the environment around the General Giap’s graveside and along Vung Chua beach.
As of February 25th, the Communist Youth Union across provinces and cities planted over 300,000 trees./.
