According to the famous fashion, beauty and lifestyle magazine Grazia, more and more French retirees choose Da Nang as an ideal destination, surpassing Portugal and Morocco. Its strengths include the low cost of living and peaceful living environment by the sea.

A VNA reporter in Paris quoted the magazine saying that when it comes to retiring abroad, Portugal has long been considered the first choice of French people with its mild climate, long beaches and cheaper standard of living in the country. However, a new name is emerging. Da Nang, located in the South Central Coast region of Vietnam. Dubbed the "Miami of Asia”, its warm sun, blue sea, and relaxed pace of life attract retirees.

Unlike the crowds of Ho Chi Minh City or Hanoi, Da Nang still maintains a gentle pace of life. Elderly people can leisurely stroll around My Khe beach, visit the market early, enjoy filter coffee by the beach or find inspiration from tropical light to read books and paint.

Da Nang possesses modern infrastructure with hospitals, services, and comfortable cafes, while maintaining a close local life, which is very suitable for the elderly.

Also, Da Nang's greatest strength lies in the rent, said Grazia. A one-bedroom apartment, near the sea or central, ranges from EUR 300 to 600/month. Monthly rent for a two-bedroom house or apartment is around EUR 500-900. At this price, retirees can live comfortably in fully furnished apartments, including air conditioning and services, while still being close to the sea and convenient neighborhoods.

The local cuisine is also a plus. Small stalls serve fresh meals for cheap, while traditional markets sell an abundance of vegetables, seafood, and spices at affordable prices that are hard to match. The city transportation such as taxis, taxi motorbikes, or buses, is all affordable. In many areas, residents can even walk or drive their own motorbike with ease.
