Peruvian Cuisine Week holds in Hanoi
(VNF) - The Peruvian Cuisine Week in Vietnam is taking place at the Sheraton Hanoi Hotel from September 21st-27th, as a part of activities to mark the 22nd anniversary of Vietnam - Peru diplomatic relations (1994-2016) and the 195th National Day of Peru (July 28th).
During the week, various traditional dishes representing Peruvian cuisine are being prepared by famous chef Maria Rosa Vasquez at Oven D’Or Restaurant at the Sheraton Hanoi Hotel, 11 Xuan Dieu street.
Chef Maria will share her recipes and tips on making traditional Peruvian foods and dishes. The event offers the Vietnamese people an opportunity to learn about Peru and promote cultural exchanges between the two nations.

Booth introduces many Peruvian products.
On the Peruvian booths, visitors had a chance to learn more about Peru as the world’ leading exporter of organic coffee and its other products. Participants can have a taste of the Peruvian coffee and Pisco Cocktail such as pisco sours (a sweet, lime tasting, but strong drink containing egg whites), introduced at Pisco Night on September 23rd in Lobby Lounge of the hotel.
A workshop to introduce a Peruvian functional food, potato, will also be organized as a sideline event on September 21st. In Peru you can find more than 3800 varieties of potatoes, due to favorable variety of climates and soil that allows tubers to grow. They differ in size, shape, color, skin, pulp, texture and of cause in their taste, but all have their place in the Peruvian cuisine.

Chargé d'affaires of the Peruvian Embassy Luis Tsuboyama stressed that Peru is blessed with beautiful landscapes and boasts strong infrastructure.
He added that the activities aim to introduce the Peruvian land and people to Vietnamese people, especially vacationers who are keen on tourism experiences and exploration.
Earlier this year, the Peruvian Embassy in Vietnam on July 7th organized a string of activities to promote the culture of Peru in the Southeast Asian nation and forge trade and tourism ties between the two countries; including workshop on Peru’s cocoa and tourism market as well as a gala called “Peru Mucho Gusto”./.
