Photo exhibition highlights Vietnam-Czech traditional relations
On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of Vietnam’s National Day (2/9/1945 – 2/9/2020) and 70 years of establishing diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the Czech Republic (1950-2020), Vietnam Embassy in the Czech Republic organized the photo exhibition with the theme " Vietnam’s renovation and development".
The exhibition consists of 75 photos, representing 75 years of heroic struggle and development history of Vietnam.
The exhibition presents historical photos of President Ho Chi Minh's visit to Czechoslovakia, bilateral meetings of senior leaders of the two countries, valuable support from the Czech people to Vietnam during its national construction and defense, and contributions by the Vietnamese community to the host country’s development.
According to Vietnam News Agency, on behalf of the organizing board, Nguyen Vu Cuong, First Secretary for Cultural Affairs of Vietnam Embassy said: “The photo exhibition aims to introduce images of an innovative and developmental Vietnam and highlight the traditional friendship between the two countries”.
For his part, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Czech Republic, Martin Tlapa highlighted the significance of the event, saying that the photos on important meetings and talks between Vietnamese and Czech leaders have demonstrated close relations between the two nations. “I and many other Czech people look forward to visiting Vietnam in the future”, he added.
Nguyen Duy Nhien, Chairman of the Vietnamese Association in the Czech Republic said that the exhibition is a special occasion that reminds overseas Vietnamese of the homeland and heroes sacrificing their lives to the cause of building and defending the country.

More than three decades after first travelling across Vietnam with a camera and a notebook, British photojournalist Andy Soloman has returned to the country, not only to photograph it again, but to reconnect with the people whose lives he captured in the early 1990s.
The exhibition “Continuum: Viet Nam” by British photographer Andy Soloman presents 51 black-and-white photographs capturing his more than three-decade-long connection with Vietnam. From portraits and landscapes taken in the early 1990s to those of today, the collection reflects the transformation of Vietnam through the lives of the people Andy Soloman has met and captured by his camera.
During his tenure, Venezuelan Ambassador to Viet Nam Juan Carlos Fernandes Juaréz promoted the signing of numerous important cooperation agreements, strengthened high-level exchanges, and expanded people-to-people interactions across various fields. In recognition of these contributions, on April 24 in Hanoi, the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations presented him with the “For Peace and Friendship Among Nations” medal.

The 37-km Abyei-Agok strategic road in the Abyei area (South Sudan) has been completed and handed over to local authorities and the UNISFA mission by Vietnam’s Engineering Unit Rotation 4 after 85 days of construction, 35 days ahead of schedule. The project was described by the Mission Force Commander as an “unprecedented achievement” since the establishment of UNISFA.
On April 22, at the Gia Lai Provincial Conference Center (Quy Nhon Ward), the Gia Lai Union of Friendship Organizations solemnly held its first Congress for the 2026-2031 term. On the evening of April 22, at Van Lake, Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam (Hanoi), the Friendship Exchange Program celebrating the traditional New Year festivals of several Asian countries in 2026 was held in a warm and welcoming atmosphere, contributing to enhanced mutual understanding and strengthened solidarity between the people of Vietnam and those of countries across the region.
Through a range of exchange, networking, and community support activities, the provincial Viet Nam-RoK Friendship Association has been contributing to enhancing mutual understanding and strengthening ties between the peoples of the two countries.
From April 16 to 21, the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations, in coordination with the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and the People’s Government of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, jointly organized the program “Vietnam-China Border People’s Festival and Youth Red Study Tour 2026” in Guangxi, China.
