Stephen Turban (US) is passionate about stand-up comedy; Kyo York from New York (US) is enamored with Trinh Cong Son’s music; and Andrey Nguyen (Russia) is fascinated by traditional Vietnamese cuisine. These three foreign young men came to Vietnam from distant countries, yet they share the same love for Vietnamese culture. To pursue that passion, they turned to the Vietnamese language as a bridge and a means of communication. By a stroke of fate, they have become “language ambassadors,” helping Vietnamese soar far and wide.

Teaching tones through traditional instruments, speaking Vietnamese while cooking familiar dishes, the mother tongue is being preserved and spread abroad through the most intimate, everyday activities. With creativity, emotion, and affection, Vietnamese continues to grow alongside younger generations across the world.

In Yamagata Prefecture, northern Japan, Pham Thi Huyen Trang continues to maintain a special class consisting of only three people: a mother and her two small children. Every day, she teaches her children to speak and write Vietnamese and tells them stories about their homeland. For her, it is not only about teaching and learning a language, but also about “planting seeds” of a Vietnamese origin in the souls of the young.

On October 18, the Vietnam Pho Festival 2025 officially kicked off at Our Tampines Hub in Singapore, attracting a large number of visitors eager to explore and savor Vietnam’s iconic dish.
