PM Phuc showed his delight at strong, comprehensive and practical gains reaped across politics, security-defence, economics, agriculture and forestry between the two countries, noting these have contributed to intensifying mutual trust and understanding.
The Government leader hailed the outcomes of the talks between the guest and National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan and approved the two legislative bodies’ plans to step up the exchange between young legislators, who, he described, are crucial elements helping develop the legislative cooperation and national relations.
He took the occasion to thank Japan for the attention it has given to Vietnam and its people, especially the valuable ODA source to spur socio-economic development and reduce poverty.
PM Phuc suggested the countries boost high-level legislative exchanges and contacts to exchange experience and asked for continuous support from the guest and the Japanese parliament in the provision of ODA for large-scale infrastructure construction, human resources training and climate change response.
He said he hopes Japan will broaden the bilateral cooperation in labour, receive more Vietnamese trainees engaging in agriculture, fisheries, and construction, and give due attention to the Vietnamese community in the country.
The Speaker briefed his host of his talks with National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, noting that both sides agreed to ratchet up cooperation in diplomatic, economic, security and defence affairs, people-to-people exchange, and especially the ties between the two law-making bodies.
He expressed his hope that the two governments will speed up coordination to connect more cooperation and investment activities and pledged that he always supports and facilitates trade and investment activities between the two business circles as well as the provision of ODA for Vietnam.
He said he believes that Vietnam, with its experience and capacity, will successfully host the APEC Year 2017./.
