According to the Ministry of Public Security’s electronic portal, speaking at the meeting, Minister Luong Tam Quang underscored the significance and importance of foreign affairs work in the context of rapid, complex, and unpredictable developments in the world and the region. Following important meetings of the Politburo, particularly during the preparations for the 14th National Party Congress, the requirements for foreign affairs work have become increasingly demanding, calling for closer, more synchronized, and more effective coordination among ministries and sectors, especially between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Public Security.

Minister Luong Tam Quang affirmed that in recent years, thanks to the close attention and direction of the Party and the State, the support and enabling conditions provided by the Government, and the responsible spirit of coordination among ministries and sectors, cooperation mechanisms in foreign affairs activities, particularly between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Public Security, have achieved many positive results, contributing to enhancing Vietnam’s position and prestige on the international stage.

Highly appreciating the core advisory role of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, especially the team of Ambassadors and Heads of Vietnam’s overseas representative missions, Minister Luong Tam Quang noted that current trends in international cooperation are no longer isolated or fragmented, but increasingly require information sharing and comprehensive coordination among functional agencies, particularly in the areas of ensuring security and order and law enforcement.

Minister Luong Tam Quang emphasized that the 2026-2030 period holds particularly important historical significance, toward the strategic goals of the 100th anniversary of the Party’s founding, enabling the country to escape the middle-income trap and move steadily toward becoming a high-income country by 2045. Achieving these goals requires strong efforts and determination from the entire Party, the entire people, and the entire armed forces under the Party’s leadership. In this context, close and effective coordination between the Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, together with Ambassadors and Consuls General at Vietnam’s overseas diplomatic missions, plays a particularly important role in implementing the Party’s foreign policy, maintaining a peaceful environment, and expanding the country’s development space in the new era.

With this shared objective, the Ministry of Public Security hopes that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, along with Ambassadors, Consuls General, and Heads of Vietnam’s overseas diplomatic missions, will continue to promote their bridge-building role, fostering development, expanding, and deepening cooperative relations between Vietnam’s Ministry of Public Security and foreign law enforcement agencies, international organizations, and international forums; actively participating in and promoting cooperation in the development of the security industry; and effectively implementing diplomatic measures to safeguard national security and ensure social order and safety.

Minister Luong Tam Quang also called for stronger coordination in directing efforts to ensure security and safety for Vietnam’s overseas representative missions, citizens, and legitimate interests abroad; intensifying external information and communications work to help counter erroneous and hostile viewpoints, build international consensus and unity within the overseas Vietnamese community, and neutralize foreign support for organizations and individuals engaged in activities against Vietnam.

Speaking at the meeting, Secretary of the Party Committee and Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung expressed his sincere appreciation for the coordination and support provided by the Ministry of Public Security in carrying out foreign affairs tasks and successfully fulfilling assigned responsibilities. He affirmed that continued close coordination among security, national defense, and foreign affairs in the time ahead is of vital importance.
