Vietnam-US Cooperation Opens Up New Opportunities for Education and Training
	New Milestone in Vietnam-US Cooperation on Identifying War Martyrs’ Remains

At the reception, Vice President Dong Huy Cuong expressed his appreciation for VFW’s contributions to addressing the consequences of war, strengthening connections, and fostering reconciliation in Viet Nam-US relations.

He noted that, with its mission of promoting people-to-people connectivity, including among veterans and international friends, the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations has organized numerous visits by US veteran delegations to Viet Nam. Through these activities, many remains of US service members have been found, making an important contribution to the normalization process and advancing bilateral cooperation in war legacy remediation.

Emphasizing the role of younger generations in the future of Viet Nam-US relations, Dong Huy Cuong underscored that engaging and mobilizing this group is a key priority. On that basis, he proposed that the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations and the VFW coordinate in implementing programs and communication campaigns to highlight the significance and core activities of the VFW in Viet Nam, thereby enhancing youth participation from both countries.

At the meeting, Senior Vice Commander-in-Chief Cory Geisler expressed his impression of the Vietnamese people’s spirit of not forgetting the past while always looking toward the future. He stressed the importance of continuing efforts to address the consequences of war, enhance mutual understanding, and build trust between the peoples of the two nations.

Commending the warm reception and long-standing cooperation of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations, Cory Geisler noted that delegation exchanges have helped promote people-to-people diplomacy and deepen mutual understanding. He expressed his desire to continue working with the Union in efforts to search for missing service members from both sides, thereby providing essential information to families and helping to bring closure to losses caused by the war.
