Proposals to Improve Support For Female Workers
Speaking at the forum, Cao Huu Hieu, deputy secretary of the Party Committee, and general director of the Vietnam National Textile and Garment Group (Vinatex) said that protecting the rights of female workers and children is a meaningful topic in the current context.
“More than 50% of the country's workforce are women. Women's role is expressed in all aspects of social life, making an important contribution to the growth and development of businesses, industries, and the country," Cao Huu Hieu said.

Therefore, the task of promoting gender equality and the advancement of women is also one of the priority contents not only in Vietnam but also globally.
According to Do Hong Van, head of Women's Affairs Committee of Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, in recent times, trade unions at all levels regularly increased coordination with functional agencies to inspect the implementation of policies and laws for labor and have more beneficial policies for female workers.
In particular, attention is paid to maternity policies, reproductive health care, and support for workers to care for and raise children.
At the forum, Nguyen Phuc Linh, chairman of the Ben Tre Provincial Labor Confederation, said that the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor should consider choosing Ben Tre as the site to deploy the construction of trade union institutions.
The Union needs to build social housing so that workers, especially female workers with young children, can rent social housing, creating a connection between workers and businesses and grassroots unions.
According to the representative of the Vietnam National Textile and Garment Group, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor needs to build and organize awards for female workers, with a focus on workers in direct production.
They need to reward and replicate good examples of female workers with achievements in the emulation movement "Good at country work, good at housework."
