Circle of Protection: SCI’s core mission
The red circle in SCI’s logo symbolizes the organization’s unwavering commitment to promoting and protecting children's rights. At its center is the image of a child, reflecting SCI’s child-centered philosophy that guides all its programs and decisions. This circle also represents the close connection between children, families, schools, communities, and the organization, together forming a sustainable and holistic child protection ecosystem.
Over the past three and a half decades, SCI has remained steadfast in its global mission: to deliver breakthroughs in the way the world treats children and to bring lasting change for every child, especially those most at risk. This mission will continue to serve as SCI’s guiding light moving forward.
Looking ahead to 2030
By 2030, SCI aims to become a leading technical partner on children’s rights in Vietnam, providing reliable data and evidence to support policy-making and program development. The organization also seeks to serve as a bridge, connecting stakeholders—government, businesses, civil society, and children themselves—to work together in advancing children's rights comprehensively and effectively.
SCI will continue to embrace innovation, experiment with new models of strategic cooperation, and strengthen partnerships with the private sector to enhance impact and ensure financial sustainability.
Particular focus will remain on vulnerable children, including ethnic minorities, children living in poverty, migrants, and those affected by climate change and disasters. All programs will integrate gender equality and social inclusion, ensuring that every child—regardless of background—has equal access to essential services and full realization of their rights.

SCI has set four strategic objectives for the 2025–2027 period. |
Four strategic priorities for 2025–2027
For the 2025–2027 period, SCI has identified four key strategic priorities:
First, ensuring a healthy start for children by strengthening sustainable health systems, with a particular focus on adolescent reproductive health and mental health support for children and young people.
Second, enhancing the resilience of children and communities to the adverse impacts of natural disasters and environmental crises through climate education programs, and the development of sustainable, environmentally friendly livelihood models.
Third, ensuring continuous access to quality education for all children while equipping them with the skills needed to transition successfully into the workforce, through the integration of technology in education and the implementation of adolescent skills development programs.
Fourth, ensuring children are protected in safe environments by fostering positive relationships, improving social services, and creating safe, healthy living conditions. SCI also promotes the implementation of the Children’s Rights and Business Principles and the widespread adoption of positive discipline models in both families and schools.
Innovation for sustainable Impact
To achieve these goals, SCI is transforming its approach to become more sustainable and impactful. Central to this is empowering local partners in program design and implementation, ensuring local ownership and continuity beyond project lifespans.
Programs will be grounded in evidence and community needs, using technology and real-time data to inform decision-making. Proven models will be scaled to reach more children, especially in hard-to-reach areas.
SCI is also building a lean, agile team capable of responding quickly to emergencies while maintaining high standards of program delivery. The organization is diversifying funding sources, with a strategic push to engage the private sector in fulfilling its social responsibility to children. Such partnerships will unlock new resources and create shared value for sustainable child development.
Children as agents of change
At the heart of SCI’s work is the belief that children are not just beneficiaries but active agents of change. By listening to children, involving them in program design and implementation, and empowering them to speak up, SCI helps children become powerful advocates in their own communities.
Long-term commitment to Vietnam’s children
With a clear strategy, long-term vision, and a spirit of innovation, SCI will continue to support children in Vietnam—especially those facing the greatest challenges—so they can live in safe environments, reach their full potential, and thrive.
SCI believes that when children are protected, heard, and given opportunities to grow, they will not only transform their own lives but also help build a fairer and more inclusive society.
