Held in celebration of the 30th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic ties between Vietnam and the United States, the event marked a significant milestone in the partnership between Vietjet and Boeing. It also underscored the strength of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two nations, fostering trade and investment while supporting the creation of hundreds of thousands of jobs across the U.S.
During the ceremony, Vietjet officially took delivery of its first Boeing 737-8 aircraft, part of a landmark order for 200 jets valued at USD 25 billion. The new aircraft is set to serve the region’s fast-growing market, elevate passenger experiences, and support Vietjet’s strategic goal of expanding its global flight network. As a new-generation airline, Vietjet continues to champion sustainable growth across both regional and international aviation sectors.

She affirmed that it also represents a new symbol of Vietnam - US relations and of Vietjet’s aspiration to conquer the skies, bringing benefits to the economies and people of both countries.
For her part, President and CEO of Boeing Commercial Airplanes Stephanie Pope said Boeing is proud to be Vietjet’s aircraft manufacturer, serving one of the most dynamic airlines that has brought groundbreaking innovations to the aviation industry. She noted that this marks the beginning of subsequent deliveries, reaffirming the strong partnership between Vietjet and Boeing as they work together to expand their wings toward a brighter future and contribute to bilateral trade between Vietnam and the US.
