At the Government’s regular press briefing for January 2026, the Ministry of Home Affairs provided information on salary levels and Lunar New Year bonuses for the Year of the Horse (Binh Ngo) 2026.

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc put forth the postponement of a regular basis salary increase for wage earners in the public sector this year in order to allot more resources to support people affected by Covid-19 pandemic and economic recovery.
