On the afternoon of May 10, the Consulate General of Vietnam in Nanning (China) in collaboration with Ha Dong General Hospital and Guangxi Medical University Hospital held an online friendship meeting on medical cooperation. The two sides joined from Hanoi and Nanning bridge points via online panels.

On the Nanning side, Consul General Do Nam Trung highly appreciated the development of comprehensive cooperation relations between Vietnam - China in general and between Guangxi and localities of Vietnam in particular over the past few years. He also stressed that the COVID-19 pandemic is a global non-traditional security challenge, which has been causing unprecedented serious consequences in human history, especially in terms of human life and deterioration. economic downturn around the world.

Vietnam's diplomacy has played a very agile role in connecting, sharing information, resonating strength to effectively prevent and combat COVID-19 contributing to strengthening the confidence of the people in the country and the world in the Party and State of Vietnam, creating a solid foundation for the country's recovery and development.

The great potential of medical cooperation between Vietnamese and Chinese hospitals

They also discussed exchange of policies and experiences of each side in the prevention and control of the Covid-19 epidemic; emphasizing the importance of academic exchanges, scientific research, experience in medical examination and treatment between hospitals.

The leaders agreed to strengthen exchanges and cooperation in human resource training, academic exchanges, exchange of experience in epidemic prevention and control, including the application of traditional medicine, exploring new forms of cooperation such as remote medical examination and treatment, online image consultation.

Delegates from both sides affirmed that the pandemic is showing that no country can solve it unilaterally and no country is "safe" until all countries in the world are "safe".

Therefore, in order to prevent, repel, and progress to good control of the COVID-19 epidemic, countries need to have close coordination and linkage with each other. The conference also highlighted the importance of the exchange of experience in epidemic prevention and control in overall research and academic exchanges between the health sector in general and the frontline hospitals in epidemic prevention and control of the two countries in particular.

Hence, the great potential of medical cooperation between Vietnamese and Chinese hospitals is to create a solid foundation for the recovery of socio-economic development of the two countries.
