Tourism and Hospitality Management major available in RMIT from 2017
(VNF) – Students in Vietnam now have chance to pursue Bachelor program in Tourism and Hospitality Management at RMIT University. The course aims at satisfying the rapidly increasing demand for manpower in Vietnamese tourism sector, which is forecast to reach 3 million by 2020, according to the National Tourism Development Strategy.
The statement was made by Associate Professor Mathews Nkhoma, Head of RMIT Vietnam’s Centre of Commerce and Management. According to him, the country’s growing tourism and hospitality industry has been generating strong demand for professionals with leadership, management skills and cultural awareness.
The RMIT University program will enable students to become part of a new leaders generation who are capable of working effectively in both international and local environment.
“The 24 courses of study over three years reflect international standards and a global outlook, while also staying connected to our communities through localized content and practical experience,” Associate Professor Nkhoma added.

Especially, students of this major will be benefited from a three-month internship program during final semester. The experience is benchmarked with the standard of leading tourism and hospitality training institutions in Switzerland, the US and Australia. After graduating, students will be equipped with relevant soft skills and career-focused attributes which ensure success in their fields of work, including: tourism & hospitality management, festivals and exhibitions, business development, etc.
In addition, to provide graduates with more career opportunities, RMIT has established partnership with various giants in the industry, such as the InterContinental Hotels Group, Sheraton Hotel, JW Marriott Hotel, Hilton Hotel, Alma Group Vietnam, and Buffalo Tours Vietnam.
The first intake of the course will be available at the Saigon South campus in February and at the Hanoi campus in October 2017./.
