The 14th Party Central Committee makes its debut at the 14th National Party Congress.

This outcome reflects the steadfastness, will, and determination to build a peaceful, independent, democratic, prosperous, civilised, and happy Viet Nam, steadily advancing towards socialism.

Delegates engaged in focused, democratic, and candid discussions on the implementation of the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress; five years of implementing the 10-year Socio-Economic Development Strategy for 2021–2030 in connection with a review of 40 years of renewal; and the review of Party-building work and the leadership and direction of the 13th Party Central Committee.

The Congress assessed achievements and remaining shortcomings, drawing lessons of lasting theoretical and practical value for national construction and development. On that basis, the Congress set orientations, objectives, and key breakthrough tasks for the 2026–2030 period, with a vision to 2045, and decided on strategic issues concerning the future and destiny of the nation for decades to come, fulfilling its historic responsibility of establishing “launchpad” policies to successfully realise the country’s two centenary goals.

The Congress set the overall objective for the 2026–2030 term as follows: resolutely and persistently maintaining a peaceful and stable environment; rapidly and sustainably developing the country while firmly safeguarding the Fatherland; comprehensively improving and enhancing the people’s living standards; achieving strategic autonomy, self-reliance, and confidence to advance strongly in the new era of the nation; successfully attaining the goal of becoming a developing country with modern industry and upper-middle income by 2030; and realising the vision of becoming a developed, high-income country by 2045, for a peaceful, independent, democratic, prosperous, civilised, and happy Viet Nam, steadily advancing towards socialism.

Average growth during the 2026–2030 period is targeted at 10% per year or higher, with per capita income reaching approximately 8,500 USD by 2030. The Congress reaffirmed the continued implementation of the three strategic breakthroughs identified in the previous term, with higher requirements to act more decisively, more rapidly, and more thoroughly, creating a decisive lever for national breakthroughs. Implementation solutions were carefully researched and distilled from practice, reflecting the aspirations of the people, emphasising effectiveness and feasibility, focusing on organisation and implementation, and strengthening mechanisms for inspection, supervision, and results measurement.

The Congress elected the 14th Party Central Committee comprising 200 members, including 180 official members and 20 alternate members. At the first meeting of the 14th Party Central Committee, To Lam was re-elected as General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Viet Nam.

The elected personnel represent a contingent of cadres with both ethics and competence, strong political steadfastness, and sufficient capacity to shoulder the responsibility of leading the country to advance rapidly, strongly, and steadily in the new era of national development. They meet the expectations of cadres, Party members, and the people for pioneering renewal in leadership style, management thinking, and working methods, contributing to a political system that operates with effectiveness and efficiency, for the country and for the people.

The Congress called on the entire Party, the entire people, and the entire armed forces nationwide, as well as overseas Vietnamese compatriots, to fully promote patriotism, a sense of civic responsibility, and aspirations for development, with each agency, unit, organisation, and individual starting from the most concrete tasks.

Notably, the Action Programme to implement the Resolution of the 14th National Party Congress represents a breakthrough compared to previous congresses, clearly identifying key tasks, schemes, works, and projects of strategic importance for the 2026–2030 period, assigning specific responsibilities, and clarifying resources, timelines, and necessary conditions for implementation.

This serves as an important basis for all levels and sectors to immediately carry out implementation with the guiding principle: development to ensure stability, stability to promote development, and continuous improvement of the people’s living standards; ensuring the highest national and ethnic interests; and taking the satisfaction and trust of the people and enterprises, along with work effectiveness, as evaluation criteria.

The country enters a new opportunity phase equipped with the glorious traditions of the nation and solid revolutionary achievements over 96 years under the correct and wise leadership of the Party.

Immediately after the Congress, all Party committees and organisations must focus on widely disseminating and communicating the outcomes of the Congress throughout the entire Party, people, and armed forces; thoroughly studying and grasping the Resolution and Congress documents; and urgently and resolutely implementing action programmes with a spirit of innovation and creativity, overcoming difficulties and challenges, swiftly bringing the Resolution into practice to create strong and substantive transformations, driving breakthrough development, fulfilling the sacred testament of President Ho Chi Minh, and building a peaceful, unified, independent, democratic, and prosperous Viet Nam, making worthy contributions to the world revolutionary cause.

The 14th National Party Congress concluded successfully amid nationwide joy as the entire Party and people prepared to welcome the 2026 Lunar New Year, commemorating the 96th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Viet Nam and the 85th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh’s return to the country to directly lead the Vietnamese revolutionary movement into a new stage of development.

Under the glorious Party flag, with the nation’s heroic tradition, spirit of self-reliance, and aspiration to rise, the entire Party, people, and armed forces pledge to unite in solidarity, fully promote the great strength of national unity, successfully implement the Resolution of the 14th National Congress of the Party, turn aspirations into reality, and build a prosperous and powerful country, steadily advancing towards socialism.
