US Aircraft Carrier Arrives in Da Nang City

The 5-day visit from June 25 to June 30 is the third time that Vietnam welcomes a US aircraft carrier after the two visits in 2018 and 2020.

The welcoming ceremony was held solemnly under the chairmanship of Ho Ky Minh, vice chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City. During the time in Da Nang, the US Navy Convoy Command Group will pay a courtesy visit to leaders of the municipal People's Committee, and the Third Naval Region Command.

In addition, groups of officers and crew will participate in a number of community activities in Da Nang such as humanitarian activities at Hy Vong Village, Hoa Mai Orphanage Center, exchanges of cultural and artistic, sports and food. They contribute to promoting the image of the country and people of Vietnam to international friends.
"This visit marks a special occasion as our countries celebrate the 10-year anniversary of the US-Vietnam Comprehensive Partnership, showcasing our shared commitment to a prosperous and secure future," said US Ambassador to Vietnam Marc Knapper.
The visit is an activity on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the comprehensive partnership between Vietnam and the United States (2013-2023).
The event contributes to maintaining and developing the relationship between Vietnam and the United States, in line with the framework of the comprehensive partnership between the two countries. It also affirms Vietnam's ability to ensure logistics and technology in welcoming foreign ships to visit.
