Venezuelan Friends Confident in Vietnam’s Success in the New National Assembly Term

According to information from the Vietnamese Embassy in Venezuela, during a visit and working session at the Embassy in Caracas, Dr. Carolus Wimmer, President of the Venezuela-Vietnam Friendship House, extended his warm congratulations to the Party, State, and people of Vietnam on the occasion of the country’s elections for deputies to the National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term, held on March 15.
At the meeting, Dr. Carolus Wimmer emphasized that the serious, responsible, and transparent preparation for this important political event vividly demonstrates the strength of Vietnam’s great national unity bloc as well as the solid foundation of its political system.
He also highly appreciated the remarkable achievements made by Vietnam’s National Assembly during the past term, particularly in improving the legal system, promoting socio-economic development, and enhancing the role of the legislative body in the country’s political life.

Dr. Carolus Wimmer expressed confidence that, with the broad consensus of the people and the long-standing tradition of unity of the Vietnamese nation, the election will open a new, dynamic, and effective term of the National Assembly that will inherit and promote previous achievements, thereby enabling Vietnam to continue moving steadily forward on its path of development and international integration.
On this occasion, the delegation of the Venezuela-Vietnam Friendship House also discussed with Vietnam’s Ambassador to Venezuela Vu Trung My measures to strengthen people-to-people exchanges and promote the traditional friendship between the two countries.
Dr. Carolus Wimmer noted that the Venezuelan people always hold deep affection and admiration for Vietnam, viewing the country as a symbol of steadfast will in the struggle for national independence as well as a success story in national construction and development.
He affirmed that the Venezuela-Vietnam Friendship House will continue to work closely with the Vietnamese Embassy in Venezuela to organize many practical activities, thereby enhancing mutual understanding and strengthening the friendship between the peoples of the two countries.
Ambassador Vu Trung My expressed his pleasure at the active activities of the Venezuela-Vietnam Friendship House in recent times, particularly in organizing cultural and academic exchange programs and promoting Vietnam’s history and culture to Venezuelan friends. According to the Ambassador, these activities have made important contributions to strengthening mutual understanding and friendship between the peoples of the two countries, while also spreading the image of Vietnam and its people in Venezuela.
Both sides affirmed that the friendship between Vietnam and Venezuela has been built on the historical foundation of solidarity in the struggle for national independence, peace, and justice.
In recent years, the Venezuela-Vietnam Friendship House has closely coordinated with the Vietnamese Embassy in Venezuela to organize many meaningful activities, such as seminars on Vietnamese history, cultural exhibitions, commemorative events honoring President Ho Chi Minh, and celebrations marking diplomatic relations between the two countries.
The two sides also discussed and agreed on several key cooperation orientations for 2026, including jointly organizing activities to commemorate Vietnam’s major national holidays, academic conferences and seminars on Vietnam-Venezuela relations, and cultural exchange programs to promote the image of Vietnam and its people to the Venezuelan public.
The Vietnamese Embassy in Venezuela and the Venezuela-Vietnam Friendship House agreed to promote youth and student exchange programs, as well as classes on Vietnamese history and culture, thereby strengthening ties between the younger generations of the two countries and building a sustainable foundation for Vietnam-Venezuela friendship in the future.
Both sides agreed to maintain a regular exchange mechanism and closely coordinate in implementing cooperative activities, while promoting the role of people-to-people diplomacy in strengthening solidarity and friendship between the peoples of the two countries.
