Vietnam has a large and frequent demand for soybeans, corn, cotton and iron ore, for animal feed production, textiles and metallurgy, said Vietnamese Ambassador to Brazil Bui Van Nghi during a working session on November 7 in Brasilia with Chairman of the Brazilian Soybean Producers Association (Aprosoja) Maurício Buffon. The goal of the meeting is to promote cooperation in the field of agriculture and industry and agricultural trade between the two countries.

Federal Congressman, Secretary General of the Brazil-ASEAN Friendship Parliamentary Group Alex Kawano also attended the meeting, cited VNA reporter in South America.
In his remarks, Ambassador Bui Van Nghi highly appreciated Brazil's role in ensuring a stable and strategic supply of agricultural products for Vietnam. He emphasized that Vietnam and Brazil are two highly complementary economies. Vietnam is a dynamic manufacturing and processing center in Asia, with strengths in electronics, textiles, footwear, seafood and processed agricultural products. It is a bridge connecting Brazil and South American countries with a market of nearly 700 million people of ASEAN, the Indo-Pacific region as well as southern China.

Meanwhile, Brazil is the world's leading agricultural powerhouse, leading in exports of soybeans, corn, beef, chicken, cotton and iron ore. Vietnam looks forward to strengthening economic, trade and investment relations as well as market access to the countries of the Common Market Area of South America (MERCOSUR) and other Latin American countries.
Ambassador Bui Van Nghi affirmed that Vietnam wishes to increase exports of seafood, cashew nuts, furniture, processed agricultural products and textiles, mobile phones, electronic computers and components to Brazil.
In response, Chairman of the Brazilian Soybean Producers Association (Aprosoja) Maurício Buffon affirmed that Brazil considers Vietnam an important strategic partner in Southeast Asia. He believed that with a solid foundation of political-diplomatic cooperation and great economic potential, the two countries would continue to expand cooperation in the field of agriculture, producing and trade of agricultural products, contributing to promoting the Vietnam-Brazil Comprehensive Strategic Partnership to develop with balance and sustainability.
Aprosoja plays the role of a bridge between producers and import-export enterprises and the international market, in which Vietnam is considered the leading potential partner in Asia, said Maurício Buffon.
