The event attracted a large number of participants both in person and online, including representatives from ministries, agencies, business associations, enterprises of both countries, as well as the Vietnamese community in Bulgaria.
In his opening remarks, BCCI Vice President Vasil Todorov highly appreciated the cooperation potential between the two countries amid the strong restructuring of global supply chains. He emphasized that Vietnam is a dynamic economic partner with an increasingly important position in the Asia-Pacific region, offering numerous opportunities for Bulgarian businesses in industry, technology, and trade.
Speaking at the seminar, Ambassador Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet stressed that the event took place at a time when the world is undergoing rapid changes, presenting both challenges and significant opportunities arising from trends in digital transformation, green transition, and innovation. The Ambassador affirmed that the upgrading of bilateral relations to a Strategic Partnership (October 2025) has created a favorable political foundation to promote more substantive cooperation in economic, industrial, science and technology sectors, as well as business connectivity.

The Ambassador noted that Vietnam is entering a new phase of development, with science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation serving as key drivers of growth, aiming to become a developed country by 2045. Based on the complementary nature of the two economies, she proposed priority areas for cooperation, including innovation, AI, IT, manufacturing, logistics, renewable energy, green technology, and green transition. She also expressed her expectation that Vietnam and Bulgaria would serve as gateways to each other’s markets in ASEAN and Europe.
At the thematic session, Nguyen Thanh Hai, a representative of the Embassy’s Trade Office, presented an overview of Vietnam’s economic development, industrial development orientations, and specific cooperation needs in innovation, digital transformation, AI, IT, and green technology.
Leaders from several Bulgarian ministries and agencies actively shared their experiences and policy directions in relevant fields, providing a basis for more substantive exchanges between the two sides. Representatives of the Vietnam Business Association in Bulgaria, along with local enterprises and associations, highly valued the potential for bilateral cooperation, particularly in manufacturing, electronics, optoelectronics, defense technology, digital solutions, AI, environmental technology, and materials processing. Many participants noted that the EVFTA, together with the Strategic Partnership framework, is creating favorable conditions to expand investment, trade, and technology transfer between the two countries.
As part of the program, business-to-business (B2B) matching activities took place actively, with the participation of numerous Bulgarian companies operating in industrial technology, automation, electrical equipment, optoelectronics, AI, environmental technology, and defense industries. On the sidelines of the seminar, the Embassy also coordinated the display and introduction of several typical Vietnamese products, contributing to promoting the country’s image, culture, and goods to the Bulgarian business community and partners.
The seminar is a concrete activity to implement the Vietnam-Bulgaria Strategic Partnership framework, while also meeting the growing demand of Bulgarian partners to gain deeper insights into Vietnam’s investment environment, industrial development orientations, and priority areas for cooperation in science and technology, innovation, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, information technology, and green transition.
