At the meeting, Ambassador Suren Baghdasaryan highly appreciated the positive development of business and trade cooperation between Vietnam and Armenia in recent years. However, he noted that the absence of direct air connectivity remains a constraint on bilateral cooperation in trade, investment, tourism, and other areas.

Air transport connectivity plays a particularly important role in advancing bilateral cooperation. Direct flights would facilitate trade, strengthen people-to-people exchanges, and help elevate the relationship between the two countries to a new level.

Ambassador Suren Baghdasaryan expressed his hope that a bilateral air services agreement would soon be signed, providing the legal framework for aviation enterprises of both countries to implement concrete cooperation in the coming period. He noted that aviation cooperation between Armenia and Vietnam would open a gateway linking Armenia with Southeast Asian countries. Conversely, Armenia could serve as a convenient transit hub for Vietnamese travelers heading to Europe, the Middle East, the South Caucasus, and Central Asia, thanks to its modern aviation infrastructure and simplified visa procedures.

Strengthened aviation cooperation is also expected to create new opportunities in areas such as charter flight operations, air cargo transport, tourism, and market information sharing between Vietnamese and Armenian enterprises.

Welcoming the proposals from the Armenian side, Le Hoang Minh, Chairman of the Vietnam Aviation Business Association and Chairman of the Members' Council of the Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation (VATM), affirmed that aviation is one of the most effective means of enhancing connectivity among countries, alongside diplomatic, media, and economic-cultural exchange channels.

He said that Vietnam's aviation sector is currently built on three main pillars: airport enterprises, air transport operators, and air traffic management service providers. Vietnam is continuing to invest heavily in aviation infrastructure through a number of key projects, including Long Thanh International Airport, as well as plans to expand major airports such as Noi Bai International Airport and several other airports nationwide.

According to Le Hoang Minh, promoting air routes between Vietnam and Armenia is well aligned with the current trend of expanding international connectivity. Vietnamese airlines are ready to explore cooperation opportunities based on actual market demand, commercial viability, and the travel needs of people and businesses in both countries.

He also said that the Association would work with airlines and airport enterprises within its network to study potential areas of cooperation with Armenia, based on the air services agreement expected to be signed between the two governments. At the same time, he affirmed that flights between Vietnam and Armenia passing through Vietnamese-managed airspace would be handled safely and efficiently, creating favorable conditions for the future operation of air routes.

During the meeting, the participants also expressed their desire to promote exchanges of experience between air traffic management authorities while exploring new opportunities for cooperation in the field of civil aviation.
