Chairman of the People’s Committee of Lang Son province Pham Ngoc Thuong on August 30 made a fact-finding tour of the Chi Ma border gate and worked with relevant agencies on the preparation for the launching event in Loc Binh district.
He requested the provincial Department of External Affairs and the management board of Dong Dang – Lang Son border gate economic zone as well as local police, border guard and customs forces to continue coordinating with Chinese counterparts to gear up for the opening and urge contractors to complete the installation of equipment while ensuring order and security.
Head of the management board of the Dong Dang – Lang Son border gate economic zone Phan Hong Tien said the construction of the No.1 inter-sectoral monitoring house at the Chi Ma border gate has been completed, covering 4,294 square metres.
Other facilities such as air conditioner, fire prevention and security camera systems have been completed with a total investment of nearly VND 110 billion (USD 4.7 million).
Local authorities had held talks with counterparts from Ningming county in China’s southwestern province of Guangxi to discuss preparation for the launching ceremony as well as the transportation management.
Thuong said the opening of the border gate pair is significant to promote socio-economic development in Vietnam-China border areas and contribute to building a border line of peace, friendship, stability, cooperation and development./.
