Vietnam, Greece promote maritime cooperation
The Vietnamese Embassy in Greece on June 6th organised a conference introducing the Vietnam National Shipping Lines (Vinalines) and Vietnam’s marine shipping and shipbuilding industries to nearly 50 Greek partners.

Addressing the conference, Vietnamese Ambassador to Greece Tran Thi Ha Phuong said that both Vietnam and Greece are nations by seas. “Greece is the gateway of southern Europe, while Vietnam is the gateway of Southeast Asia,” she said. Greece is a world leading nation in marine shipping with over 4,500 commercial vessels, accounting for over 20% of the vessels all over the world. According to Ambassador Phuong, the cooperation in this area will benefit both Vietnam and Greece.
During the conference, Greek delegates interpreted the strength of each enterprise and the area of cooperation with Vietnam they cared about. Many expressed their hope to develop cooperation relations with Vinalines.
The conference witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding between Vinalines and some Greek maritime companies, including Aries Energy, Adequate and Atlantic./.
