Vietnam hosts ASEAN Sports, Family’s day in South Africa

The event was attended by representatives from embassies, military attaché, commercial affairs and news agencies of the ASEAN countries in South Africa.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Vu Van Dung, Vietnamese Ambassador to South Africa and Chairman of the ASEAN Committee in Pretoria, stressed that the event aims to strengthen solidarity and friendship of ASEAN through cultural and sport activities.

He also expressed his hope that the friendship and traditional cooperation of the ASEAN member countries will be enhanced vastly.

Exchanges on traditional cultural activities were held at the event, along with badminton, table tennis, mini golf competitions, among others. Traditional dishes of the ASEAN countries were also featured by respective embassies./.
