According to Trofimchuk, as ASEAN enters a new era, it has grown beyond the scope of a regional organization to establish itself as a leading strategic partner that receives special attention from major powers such as the United States, China, Russia, Japan, and the European Union (EU). The bloc is now recognized as a leader and a driving force behind advanced ideas and technologies.
Within this broader picture, Vietnam has emerged as a bright spot of stability, skillfully maintaining a balanced foreign policy while proactively promoting multilateral cooperation. Countries such as Vietnam are key to maintaining the balance of the entire region. This is also a shared strategic objective of ASEAN. Therefore, according to the Russian expert, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung’s presence at the recent ASEAN-Russia forum clearly demonstrated Vietnam’s stature and influence on the international stage.
Trofimchuk noted that, despite all the ups and downs of the global economy, ASEAN’s structure and brand are becoming increasingly stable, prominent, and important not only in Southeast Asia but throughout the world. ASEAN operates smoothly and harmoniously like a well-oiled machine. The organization’s member states, with Vietnam serving as one of its principal driving forces, have made decisive contributions to this success.
Russian experts have consistently observed that Vietnam places emphasis on concrete and long-term strategic cooperation with each of its partners. Many countries can learn from Vietnam’s foreign policy experience, particularly in navigating a complex geopolitical landscape while maintaining a steadfast stance aimed at preserving peace and prosperity for all its people.
